The goal of his wiring and teaching was to educate and enlighten his own people so that Japan could become a civilized nation (Lu 346). Yukichi's writings have been intensely studied by researchers. There is some debate over whether Yukichi's writings were Eurocentric. This essay will argue that Yukichi's writings were extremely Eurocentric. The Eurocentric nature of his writing created an extremely unrealistic picture of the position of nations in the world."
