1,575 words (approx. 6.3 pages) | 0 sources | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

The paper discusses how Fordism can be described in many ways, but it is perhaps best to describe it as a means of production intended to maximize the productive efficiency of a plant operation. The paper explains that certainly it may be argued that Ford, more so than any other corporate executive of his time, took Taylor mania for efficiency and applied it to the physical geography of his plants.

From the Paper:

"Of especial interest was Highland Park, "The Crystal Palace", which became the physical embodiment of Ford's business theory and an example to the world of the new style of sophisticated production and labour management being championed in the United States."
