Regardless, according to Myer's pecking order hypothesis, the type of security will depend on a true reflection of costs and a company's true position (Genser 24). In the days of corporate corruption and accounting fraud a great many corporations cannot be too careful. Their reputation is all they have and their investors are counting on it. Therefore "managers prefer to utilize retained earnings as the primary source of investment financing analysis before resorting to issuing debt or equity" (Mcmenamin 489). It is also true that stock prices change due to issuance or debt and are in accordance to Myers pecking order theory."
