Orem's Self-care Deficit Nursing Theory

From the Paper:

"Orem's theory emphasizes the multi-dimensionality of health. A healthy life is not merely addressing a person's illness. Rather, Orem emphasized on the importance of the family and its members to be self-reliant in maintaining health. It is the nurse's role to provide families of health promotion plans that are designed according to the family's needs, strengths, and ability to work together. Health education by nurses is therefore critical. By empowering patients and their families on their own health, nurses and families are rewarded longevity and a good quality of life."
