From the Paper:

"Due to patients' confabulations and deceptions, when a physician suspects factitious disorder it is often necessary to carefully check the patient's history with information from other sources such as outside hospitals or family members. Physicians are, of course, typically legally obligated to obtain the patient's consent for such inquiries; however, some have suggested that obtaining this information without consent may well be justified in order to prevent the patient's self-harm, just as such inquiries may be permissible when attempting to prevent a patient's suicide."

I attended a highly-selective liberal arts college in the East, and now am in medical school. As an undergraduate I was a chemistry major, but due to the extensive general education requirements at my school, I have written papers in a number of subjects. All of the papers submitted received a grade of at least A-, and should serve as excellent resources. I scored 800s on both my verbal SAT I and the writing SAT II, as well as a 13-15 on the verbal reasoning section of the MCAT.
