"Klapper transferred consideration from media messages to the role of addressees in the mass communication procedure. This was a significant progress, however, one reduced by researchers who turned out to be excessively stimulated about the power of an "active" and even "obstinate" addressees capable to overcome media messages (Bauer, 1964).
