Environmental Protection - A Marketing Approach
An analysis of new ideas for environmental protection from a marketing point of view.
2,000 words (approx. 8 pages) | 6 sources | APA | 2002 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper looks at way in which the government has attempted to introduce environmental protection policies and focuses on where it has failed. The writer comes up with suggestions from a marketing point of view as to how the government could institute stricter control and better environment protection by privatizing, rewarding and encouraging individuals.

From the Paper:

"Since the 1970 s economists have been promoting the idea of interjecting market-based initiatives into environmental protection policies. These economists believe that the use of the market-based initiatives would make it unattractive financially for polluters to continue to pollute at normal levels. Furthermore, these initiatives could achieve environmental goals more efficiently than command-and-control regulations. From these beliefs several environmental protection initiatives have been derived, such as tax incentives, permits, and emission trading. While, these market-based initiatives have shown promise there are strong critics that believe that these initiatives are only a short term fix and serve no real long term solution. "
