Effective Communication in Patient Health Care

This paper discusses the barriers to effective communication that are common between staff and patients in mental health or psychiatric units. The paper explains that these barriers tend to be more prevalent when the client population is a geriatric one and then describes the patient factors that contribute to these barriers such as psychiatric disorders, personality disorders, and sub-clinical behavior traits.
