This paper takes a closer look at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America Schools. Specifically, it will examine the appropriateness of them as an early childhood education service, the suitability of their facilities and the partnerships into which they enter. The paper reviews the efficiency of these institutions as business enterprises, looks at their compliance with federal and state regulations, and concludes by exploring how, as exemplary as their high ideals and goals, these organizations still have problems that need to be addressed through hard-headed business realism.

"Early childhood organizations that also happen to be religious have become increasingly prevalent in recent years. The following paper will examine Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (also known as ELCA) schools and assess the services these schools provide to their students, the particular clientele they serve, their size and their location. From there, the paper will examine the appropriateness of the program, the suitability of the physical facilities, any community and/or parent partnerships involving these schools, issues of morale, business efficiency and compliance with government legislation. Finally, this paper will conclude by assessing the over-all effectiveness of the organization and further strategies that can be employed to create a more successful enterprise."
