E-commerce has become a billion dollar industry as more and more people discover the idea of buying goods and services over the internet. This paper explores the advantages, as well as the disadvantages of using the internet for their consumer habits.

"While exploring the positives and negatives about e-commerce, there are still some shoppers who want the "touchy-feely" approach. They want to see the merchandise, examine it, check it before they plunk down cash or credit card. In fact, it would not be surprising to have some savvy retailer advertise the "extra dimension" of shopping in his establishment---touching and examining the object in all its dimensions, not merely through a picture on a computer screen that could very well be touched up. There still is something about seeing what you're buying and being able to check everything out for yourself. Besides, when you shop on the Internet, where's the ice cream parlor or Starbuck's to relax in?"
