Paper Summary:

E-commerce has received much publicity as the growth of on-line business-to-consumer and business-to-business companies has created impressive stock gains for the industry. The nature of the internet has meant that these gains have not been limited to a single country, but have instead been seen throughout the world, although with varying degrees of success. South Korea and its market is the focus of this discussion. According to the author, e-commerce in this market is supposed to increase substantially in the next year, accounting for only 1 percent of global e-commerce. Further, since has it only recently participated in such activities, it is likely that the .com rise and fall of north America will be repeated. However, at this rate, it is likely Korea will become an active participant in the internet in the coming years.
