"Democracy and Capitalism While often used as complimentary terms or understood as a system of values that ultimately work in favor of one another, in actuality, democracy and capitalism are separate entities that work against each another. Capitalism, by design, creates a set of conditions that makes democracy a concept that cannot be achieved. When looking at the two concepts, great volumes can be written defining the parameters and the conditions revolving around each of them; however, for the sake of discussion, a simplified common definition based on Webster's Intermediate Dictionary will be used for continuity. For arguments sake, democracy will reflect a government ruled by the people."
