This paper describe how the managers in an organization delegate within a given framework. The scope of this paper also addresses how delegation could possibly be used more effectively in planning, organizing, and leading the organization.

"Delegation has long been considered as an important management skill. Indeed, unless a leader or manager learns to effectively delegate, chances are that neither the manager nor the people in her or his team will grow, resulting in organizational stagnation. Although every organization professes a deep belief in delegation and developing its people, the fact is that a company's structure and culture affect a manager's scope and ability to delegate. For instance, organizations that are run on scientific principles or the structural frame believe in a set of principles that define specialization, span of control, authority, and delegation of responsibility (Harris, 1993, p. 78-79)."
