Critical Thinking
A personal account of the role of critical thinking in the project management process.
828 words (approx. 3.3 pages) | 3 sources | APA | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

The paper lists the project processes involved in a project and relates that critical thinking is an absolute must in the project management process. The paper explains the critical thinking processes of asking questions, trying to answer the questions by reasoning them out, and believing the results of the reasoning. The paper then discusses how humans are not always rational or logical, but relates that the success of each project was that despite being emotional beings, all the team members strove to stay logical and apply critical thinking to each and every project endeavor.

From the Paper:

"In ones career, it is inevitable to be tasked with the planning, implementation and completion of a project or projects. At my place of work, this is a regular occurrence and each of us is given specific tasks to complete either the whole project or part of the project. In one project we did, it was critical to think things through and formulate a carefully planned sequence of activities in order not to waste time, money and other resources - both tangible and intangible. Whenever my place of work embarks on a project, we follow the methodology formulated by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the PMI divides projects into four different but interrelated phases."
