On the other hand, the policy related products of the Positivist School reflect the school's belief in reformation. Two specific examples are the introduction of "mitigating" factors during the sentencing phase of many trials, including death penalty trials, and the requirement that many drug and domestic violence offenders take courses in addiction control and anger management."
