Two different theories of cognitive development are examined. The first is that proposed by Piaget. The second is that proposed by Vygotsky. Firstly, these theories are presented. This allows for the differences between each to be noted. These theories are then used to examine children's toys. Three toys are discussed for each of the theories, showing how each toy contributes to cognitive development. These toys include blocks, shape sorters, animal sound books and more.From the Paper:
