Xin Lui's, 'The Otherness of Self', refers to significant differences of self-perception and ontology in Chinese civilization (136f). First, the Chinese individual is normally oriented towards the family or group, in keeping with various non-Western persons, as opposed to the individual premise implied in scholarly work."
