"The writing process itself is different for every writer. However, every writer would agree that rewriting is a natural part of the process that must occur for any book, novel. One important aspect of revising is allowing others to read the rough draft and give feedback. From the suggestions and reactions of others, writers can often gain a new perspective, which may help the story flow better. Learning from other writers is important as well. In addition, each writer must learn to critique his or her own work. This is essential to develop "thick skin" that is often necessary for any possible future negativity. Samuel Butler tells the aspiring writer to ?think of and look at your work as though it were done by your enemy. If you look at it to admire it you are lost . . . If we look at it to see where it is wrong, we shall see this and make it righter."
