This proposed project is an effort to help landless farmers in rural Sri Lanka, a country beset by civil war since 1983. Early Grameen ventures in Bangladesh enabled peasants to buy implements. Landless peasants were helped to buy milch cows to better feed their children and create milk-selling opportunities.
