Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affects approximately 5 percent of school-age children (Glass & Wegar, 2000). As Glass (2001) notes, children with ADHD "often poses a significant problem in the classroom for students and teachers alike. Children with ADHD are at an increased risk of academic failure due to the troublesome characteristics."
