2,415 words (approx. 9.7 pages) | 0 sources | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper looks at various political styles mentioned in Aristotle's writings but focuses on his views on democracy. It shows what Aristotle considers the flaws of this system and what an ideal political structure is.

From the Paper:

"Another defect of democracy which cannot be overcome by Aristotle's ideals is the basic premise of democracy that all citizens are equally educated and versed in the functions and duties of government service. Without a concerted effort to achieve this level of instruction human nature will always by such that there are those who have no interest or those who do not understand the functioning of the government well enough to fill the role of ruler. This then precipitates a class or group of people who are apart from the government, which could then lead to inequality of all."
