An analysis of a quoted passage from Sophocles' "Antigone."
904 words (approx. 3.6 pages) | 4 sources | MLA | 2004 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper offers an analysis of a quoted passage from Sophocles' play "Antigone." The paper discusses how the passage relates to the overall theme of the drama, how it is relevant to contemporary human beings and finally how it is personally relevant to the writer.

From the Paper:

"Despite being written centuries ago, the drama of "Antigone" by Sophocles is highly relevant to contemporary moral and ethical decisions. Antigone and her sister Ismene know that their father's transgression of law has met with harsh consequences. King Creon has made it law that those who oppose the state do not deserve burial. Antigone is aghast at this notion since she believes her dead warrior brother deserves consecrated burial."
