Sometimes, advertising offers information, such as when a new product is introduced, or when significant features have been added to a product. In other case, advertising seeks to remind consumers that the product is still available. Most American consumers are of the opinion that advertising seeks to create demand for the product, while advertisers hold that effective ads cannot create demand for products, but merely persuade a consumer already seeking a particular product that one or another brand is the appropriate one to purchase.
