From the Paper:

"This study will examine the central issues of adolescent development and will apply relevant developmental theories to a discussion of those issues. The study will consider the relevance of gender and minority aspects of adolescent development, and will consider central features which should be incorporated into a sex education curriculum to help adolescents deal with or manage their sexuality.

As we read in Santrock, some of the major issues of adolescent development are alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders, juvenile delinquency, suicide, teenage pregnancy, and relationships with others, including parents, peers, teachers, etc. These issues flow from biological, psychological and social changes which are affecting the thought and behavior of the developing adolescent."
