"In their article, Richard Tewksbury, Matthew T. DeMichele and J. Mitchell Miller take the time to assess the methodological orientations of various researchers published in five leading academic journals. In any case, the authors seized upon five representative journals in large measure because they were a) American journals and b) they were journals that accepted both quantitative and qualitative methodologies (Tewksbury et al., 2005, p.270). The authors then employed six variables - including gender and methodological orientation - in their assessment of "who publishes what and where". Chief among their findings, the authors discover that roughly three-quarters of the articles published in these journals use quantitative methods (Tewksbury et al., 2005, p.274). "
