Abstract The paper discusses the three major themes in Kahn's narrative "The Boys of Summer". The paper outlines Kahn's own story, that of a young boy growing up in Brooklyn when baseball was all that mattered and baseball was the premier sport of young fans. The paper then discusses the history of the Dodgers and their struggles until they finally gained fame. Finally, the paper overviews the third part of the book that chronicles Kahn's later years as a sportswriter.
