1,180 words (approx. 4.7 pages) | 11 sources | MLA | 2005 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper explains that, even decades after many feminists advocated social, political and economic equality of the sexes, woman are still in the process of moving toward a new era where they are seen as being qualified to accomplish tasks equal to any man. The author points out that, nonetheless, women of the 21st century have evolved to being much more independent, confident and powerful individuals as not only full time moms but also being able to concurrently hold full time jobs. The paper stresses that a woman is a woman because she knows she can have the world in her hands as long as she has the will power and strength of mind to achieve her goals.

From the Paper:

"Most women were extremely submissive, praising men on a job well done. Little girls were left to believe that they would never be the ones that could fly, see through walls, have x-ray vision and tear down a whole city single handedly. The female was always the damsel in distress who normally was the one rescued in comic books. There were never independent women super heroes until Wonder Woman. She was one of few who existed in a male dominated cartoon society. Her character was the positive alternative to the violent nature of comic books intended for boys."
