"Throughout Roman history, many influential temples have been built. Perhaps the most recognizable and influential temple in all of imperial Rome is the Pantheon. Most temples that were built in ancient Rome were dedicated to a single god, or possibly a few gods. Built by the Emperor Hadrian, the ideology behind the Pantheon was to give remembrance and respect to all of the gods in ancient Rome. Since this temple was turned into a church in the early seventh century A.D., it was maintained and preserved very well, and can still be visited today.
