↶ Look Inside

Paper Summary:

This paper relates the need for leadership, especially related to information technology, in for-profit, not-for-profit and other types of public organizations. One of the important leadership roles, the author stresses, is to be able to translate the technicalities and generalities of a new technology so that end users can recognize how it will help them solve their problems. The paper also analyzes the use of transformational leadership and of technology, especially the laptop and the Internet, to benefit the organization. In the conclusion of the paper, the author describes nonprofit organizations and their need for precise financial management.

From the Paper:

"Nonprofit organizations do things somewhat differently from for-profit organizations when it comes to how they manage their finances and how they provide their financial information to others. Naturally, these nonprofit organizations have to make money, or they would not be able to remain in business and help others, but they do not make their money for a profit. Instead, they take that money and turn it back into goods and services that help others, pay their employees, and pay their bills."
