From the Paper:
"In terms of organizing, technology has allowed managers to gather and assimilate resources in ways not previously possible. Information may be pooled from multiple sources in an expedient manner, which may have taken drastically longer in the past. When determining the rank of websites, Google's managers must gather countless amounts of Internet data in an attempt to organize the restructuring of a search algorithm. Telephones, video conferences, and email are other advances in technology used to link multiple subsidiaries and geographical locations; all leading to an increased ability to organize personnel and other resources."
