1,237 words (approx. 4.9 pages) | 6 sources | APA | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses ecommerce, which has grown phenomenally over the last decades and is clearly the future of business. The writer explains that Microsoft and Dell are two giants in the ecommerce domain mainly due to their effective strategies and the constant evolution of their web portals to match the growing demands of the online customer base. Both these companies leveraged the Internet in an effective manner by implementing changes in both server hardware and in software by redesigning the web pages and content in such a manner to offer real time, interactive product-based services in a swift, safe and secure manner. Ease of use, scalability, security and interactive and effective information exchange are the keys to success in the world of ecommerce.

From the Paper:

"Microsoft and Dell are two giant organizations, which have successfully exploited the potential of the Internet to vigorously market their products and boost their sales revenue. Continuous web upgrades and fine tuning of web-based services with a customer friendly focus has enabled both Microsoft and Dell to realize the growth figures that they managed to achieve. First and foremost come the web designing and the speed and ease of navigation across the website. With more than 13 million unique users every day and with more than 289 million people downloading windows updates everyday it is easily obvious that efficient management of its web portal is crucial for sustaining its business."
