This paper explains that critical thinking prompts the asking of questions; however, asking the right question, at the right time is just as important as asking the question. The author points out that her life is overflowing with decision making from simple to complex decisions, all day long; nevertheless, only a few of these daily decisions are made as a result of critical thinking. The paper presents examples of the many benefits of being a critical thinker.
From the Paper:
"One example of a decision made recently using critical thinking was if I should take a position in a new organization within HP. When I first began considering the new position, I found that very quickly I was overwhelmed with the pros and cons of each position. To relieve the building stress around this decision, I carefully analyzed each pro and each cons and began asking questions of people who were knowledgeable of the position."
