Paper Summary:
This paper describes a childhood friendship through the teddy bear "Loany." The author writes in the first person that he stole the toy from his friend and later when the friend moved away, he received the bear as a gift. The paper reminds us that sentimental objects have great personal value, because they hold our precious memories.
From the Paper:
"My life since I was a child has always been full of things and objects that I have been attached to. Indeed it's really hard for me to part with anything that belongs to me. I've always been trying by all means to keep my belongings whether they are worn out or even broken or totally useless. Most of the time these objects have or are somehow related to an event or a period of my past. They are sometimes gifts, sometimes things I bought. They are my possessions. But in spite of their large number there is one above all I care about. It has no real monetary value but mostly a great emotional value and it means a lot to me. This is the gift I'm the most attached to. It's my most important possession. It is my fourteen-year-old teddy bear."
