This paper examines the speeches of various presidents during the cold war and compares them with the speeches of George W. Bush during the "war on terror." The paper finds that there was some similarity initially, but that the rhetoric quickly parted from the earlier speeches, becoming hateful and violent and demanding war as the only answer.
