This paper examines three psychotherapy techniques, Technical Eclecticism, Cyclical Psychodynamics and Problem-Centered Therapy (family and marriage therapy), looks at how each model works and looks at similarities and differences between the models.

"According to Lazarus, personality is formed, maintained and changed by classical and operant conditioning modeling and vicarious learning, thoughts, feelings, images and sensations and by unconscious processes. The multi-modal approach to psychotherapy assumes that unless several discrete but interactive modalities are assessed treatment is likely to overlook significant concerns. Multimodal Initial interviews of patients and the use of a Multimodal Life History Inventory provide an initial review of a client's significant behavioral affective responses."
