Supply Chain Processes within X University

Ethical Implications

From the Paper:

"Compared to traditional supply chain management processes the University's processes are different. As Cook et al (2001) indicate in their study on the implication of service industry supply chain that supply chain in such an industry differs from the manufacturing organization. This is because the service industry must build strong relationships with its customers and benefit the consumers in several ways to create loyalty which ultimately lead to increased revenue and predictable profits. X University differ from this model is that it is greatly dependent on investors and the student's fees for its set up and operations. Profitability comes last in the strategy as it must account for the various financial contingencies such as grants, financial assistance and the like which create a credit based operations. There is little predictability in such cases."
