The paper discusses how few American presidents in modern times have been as reviled as Richard Nixon. Despite a number of foreign and domestic triumphs, Nixon will be forever associated with the Watergate scandal of the early 1970s. The paper reviews the event leading to Nixon's ultimate demise and considers to what extent the thirty-seventh president of the United States exhibited the sort of behavior similar to the sort of governing principles immortalized in Niccolo Machiavelli.From the Paper:
