After the publication of Darwin's The Origin of Species in 1859, many have looked upon the book of Genesis as a myth that no longer tells us anything of real importance about our beginnings or our selves. In this paper I want to show that empirical thought is not the only legitimate means of obtaining an authentic understanding of our origins; that as a mythic narrative The Holy Bible also offers us a true and valid account of our beginnings.
