"In Anne Fausto-Sterling's "The Five Sexes: Why Male and Female are Not Enough", the author argues that two genders do not accurately represent the sexual multiplicity evident in nature. I find her argument that there are more than two distinct sexes and society would be better off accepting sexual multiplicity convincing. In Patrick D. Hopkins' "Gender Treachery: Homophobia, Masculinity and Threatened Identities", the author argues that linking sex and gender to person distorts identity in ways that lead to virulent manifestations like homophobia."
