The authors of the plays demonstrate the opinion that women are not able to manifest their true personalities in the contemporary world because males dominate such a society by imposing their rules and power. In a prevailing male society, women's sacrificial roles emerge, and this prevents females from manifesting their identity and imposing their emotions and impulses. The two plays have rather similar points in depicting the specific nature of men and women, their relationship with one another, and their role in society."
