This paper will open its comparative analysis of the health care systems of Mexico and Cuba with a discussion of the ramifications of this problem in regard to the available data on both countries. With an understanding of the potential impact of this problematic data upon our analysis, this paper will proceed to examine the available data on the health care systems of both countries in order to assess the overall effectiveness of both with respect to such criteria as life expectancy, infant mortality, physician/patient ratio, as well as the percentage of GDP spent on health care and the percentage of population with access to services.
