675 words (approx. 2.7 pages) | 1 source | 2005 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses how when it comes to comparing two short stories, it can be a challenge. Edgar Allan Poe's, 'The Cask of Amontillado' and William Faulkner's, 'A Rose for Emily' are two stories that are not only scary, but they create suspense about what is going to happen in the end. However, William Faulkner's 'A Rose for Emily' is the scarier of the two because the action seems to build from the first paragraph until the very end while at times it is difficult to follow what is happening in Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Cask of Amontillado.'
