"The definition of an epic poem encompasses several factors. Firstly, an epic poem is a narrative poem on a large scale. Secondly, an epic poem is a story of an adventure, usually involving a hero on a quest. Thirdly, the epic contains myth, legend or mystery and is usually set in the past and in a heroic age.
