Paper Summary:

This paper examines life in America today as predicted in George Orwell's classic novel "1984." The writer of this paper compares the current advancements in technologies to those mentioned in the novel and concludes that individual privacy is sorely lacking in the U.S. This brief paper also discusses the lack of freedom as well as the over abundance of advertising to the masses which is clearly detailed in Orwell's novel.

"Currently, with the advance on technology, people are not only being recorded, but also being tapped on phone conversations, and investigated in the internet without knowing so. It is not common to find people who care about who is watching them, and this leads us to find individuals who think they have control over themselves, which is almost impossible to happen. Every day, new machines are invented with the purpose of maintaining the security of the United States; however, these equipments make each time harder for people to have control over their own life."
