This paper also discusses the extent to which foreign powers such as the United States, Great Britain, France and Germany influenced the war's outcome; the rise of the fascist movement and the Popular Front; and the impact of fascists in Spain afterward. Spain and the rule of Franco contributed to the perpetuation of the single-party states of both Germany and Italy during WWII.
