"Women at home now find it easier cooking with gas or kerosene instead of firewood which is very difficult to burn during the wet season. In the town and cities, firewood has been replaced with gas and kerosene. This has saved man a lot of problems. People spent a long time washing utensils such as pots and the smoke generated by firewood polluted the environment.
"Similarly, oil lamps with their numerous problems and inconveniences are fast disappearing. Electric light has been invented as a result of advancements in science and technology. The oil lamp was used before it. It was made from clay. Raw cotton properly shaped was put in the lamp to absorb the oil and direct the glowing light. The cotton having soaked enough oil in the earthen lamp is lit. This way, the whole house is lit."
