This paper examines in detail the case of Molly, and how she is treated as a schizophrenic rather than the sad, lonely, neurotic individual, she initially presented herself to be. Destined to be sent to the backward of a mental institution, the doctor who treats Molly, sees her as an individual who was trying to find a solution to a personal problem, not just as a collection of walking neurons and nerves waiting for a psychotropic cocktail to make the delusions go away. In treating Molly, the psychologist gets to know his patient without judging her actions or beliefs.
