This paper explains that the case study method is appropriate for examining the strategies which are likely to yield desired results within a given setting. The author points out that this case study of Mid-vale Memorial Hospital (hospital) provides an assessment of the needs of the hospital, the needs and demands of its customers and the most effective course of action, which can satisfy these needs in both a long-term and a short-term setting. The paper focuses on the administrative strategies of the hospital.

"The mission for the hospital is provision of exceptional care for all patients, regardless of ability to pay. This mission integrates the needs of the community into the encompassing goals of the hospital. This mission also identifies that in order to achieve this goal, the Hospital needs to stay in action. This stresses a need for developing long-term administrative strategies which reduce the emergence of problems and promote an effective functioning of the system. Short-Term Goals. There are a series of goals which need to be implemented over the next 1-3 years. This is the period of time during which the Hospital Administrator is being phased out (e.g.: semi-retired) and his successor can be phased in. The strategy for finding the replacement for the Hospital Administrator needs to be deconstructed into Financial and Administrative regents."
