The author presents the background and mission statement of the University of Phoenix and also discusses their vision and values. The author then suggests a slight change to the current mission statement of the University of Phoenix to allow for future growth and opportunity. The paper also analyzes the strategic management plan of the University of Phoenix and discusses the ways in which the new strategy's outcomes will affect the leadership and culture of the university.

Outline:
University of Phoenix Background
Mission Statement
Reaching the Desired End State
Components of the Strategic Management Process
Effects of Strategy on Leadership and Culture
Conclusion

From the Paper:

"While the University of Phoenix will need to focus on all four of these elements as it moves through the strategic planning process, emphasis must be placed on the implementation phase of this plan, as the implementation stage can be more difficult than the formulation stage. While forming a strategy is not a trivial task, conceptualizing is almost always easier than putting that concept into practice."
