"This paper examines and analyze a case study involving the harassment of a female employee by a male supervisor. The case is worthwhile because it segues nicely into a larger discussion of various forms of discrimination and the laws designed to discourage them. Specifically, the paper examines some key cases which clearly articulate the United States Supreme Court position on this matter as well as how the concept of equity can be introduced into a workplace. "

"Human Resources and Sexual Harassment: An Analysis In our week two assignment, we came across a hypothetical situation in which a female employee was the subject of a number of irresponsible remarks from a male supervisor. At one point, the victim of the harassment was informed that, if she did not "co-operate", she would quickly find herself out of a job. Needless to say, the subject approached the Human Resources Department where she worked and demanded that something be done about the situation. According to our case notes, the HR applied the EEOC guidelines and organizational policies developed over time to combat precisely this sort of situation. Among the first steps taken was to get the defendant's version of the events. Not surprisingly, he denied the allegation and both he and the victim were called into a private conference whereupon a witness corroborated the complainant's version of events."
